Hello Goodbye 2011

Geez,2011 just whizzed me by and I've completely forgotten about updating this blog. Ohmygod,I am a lazy little blogger,arent I? :(

So here's a tiny compressed nugget of a year I had:

2011 has been a whirlwind of some sorts. I spent two months in Hong Kong as part of my summer exchange and it a mixed bag of experiences and emotions. I visited the "happiest" place on earth,Disneyland and fell in love with space mountain,the most awesome indoor rollercoaster! The roller coaster is completely in the dark but the soundtrack in AMAZING!

Also, I attended so many concerts this year that I've lost count and also attended a concert on my own,in a foreign land. So I'm pretty proud of myself for doing that, bravery +1. Did i tell you, I plucked up my courage, to talk to a complete stranger at the concert venue and he was so nice to walk me back to the train station after the concert. =D Hehe! I attended a 12 hour music festival at Fort Canning in January 2011 and it poured and poured the whole duration of the concert! Our ponchos were useless and soon my shoes were soaked in mud. But it was an experience I will never forget in a long time.

My boyfriend and I went on a theme park mini- binge (4 times in a year is hardly a binge i realise!) and now we're addicted to roller coasters,though I might end up puking if i rode on them consecutively haha. We visited Ocean Park and Disneyland in Hong Kong. And Universal Studios Singapore,twice, in a span on two months. This January (2012),we'll be visiting Disneyland and DisneySea Tokyo!! HURRAY!

Speaking of Tokyo, my boyfriend and I decided to be spontaneous and booked a flight to Tokyo in January. Tokyo is probably one of the most expensive cities in the world and we're planning on having an unforgettable and best experience we can,on a shoestring budget. But! I'm already in debt before I even board the plane,haha.

2011 also meant I've been together with my boyfriend for two years now. When we first got together,I dont think both of us expected us to last this long. He thought I'd grow bored of him and I thought I'd grow bored of being in a relationship in general(I need constant entertainment and hate being alone doing nothing). But two years on,I'm so glad that we are still able to discover something new about each other,every day. Plus I've learnt so much from him,be it random mental floss that he read online or how to fix my damn laptop that constantly dies on me! Hahaha! I've also learnt that my boyfriend loves me in his own quiet way (we dont hold hands outside or kiss goodbye in the company of friends.). He calls himself an emotion-less monster haha. So everytime he tells me I love you,I know it means a lot to him and it is also extra special to me. I hope 2012 brings us many more adventures,memories and love though we will be travelling on different paths soon.

I've also made a small but comfortable bunch of friends in school. People I can rant out to and at the same time know wont judge. People who take me as I am, insecurities and awkwardness all meshed in one. As cliche as it might sound, I wouldnt have been able to survive school without their craziness!

Next year, I'll finally be graduating from University and the world of 9 to 6 awaits to shred my soul and wanderlust spirit to bits. :( I'd be lying if i said I wasnt the least bit worried about the future. I know I would never be happy if i ended up being a teacher, it is just an occupation that has never appealed to me. Perhaps I know that I dont have the knack for explaining things to people nor the patience to content with pre-pubescent little kids.

Everyone wants to work at a fun place and do what they love. But how many people out there really do achieve those dreams. More often then not,i see my friends fresh out of school and eager to dive into the working world to put their skills to use. At the end of the day,everyone is just so jaded,each and every single one of them.

At this juncture, it would probably be appropriate for me to throw in some lyrics from one of my favourite songs (I'm cheesy like that,hehe!). Plus,how dare I end of this post on a gloomy note eh! So!

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder

Uh-oh! How many months has it been since i've last updated! Haha! Seems like i'm determined to live up to my lazy blogger title!

I'll be turning twenty one this year and I've been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo for a really long time! Of course my parents would never approve, sighhh :( But looking at Amanda Wacob's collection makes me want to do it on the sly!

Who says tattoos have to be all boring black and green!

I would love a cupcake cake please! :)

I've always been fairly intruiged by cupcakes. Maybe its the pretty decorations, maybe its cos they're as yummy as they look. The most fashionable of foods may be a title worth bestowing on this little beauty eh? But somehow in singapore, cupcake shops are few and far in between. I think the only one i know of is emi cupcakes. Hmmm its easier to find a muffin shop, the cupcakes uglier cousin. :(

Two Sundays ago (Yes I am a lazy blogger it seems haha!), Daddy and I went flea-hunting when we chanced upon this lovely sight! Yes! A forty year old vintage MG automobile! Growing up in the 60s, I suppose MG automobiles were quite the sight, so as expected, Daddy got all excited when he spotted the car! We were busy snapping pictures when the owner popped on by and apparently the car breaks down 0h-so-often.

Such a pretty cheery car! Wouldnt it be nice to cruise down town in one! :)

A couple of months back, I came across She Hit Pause Studios and i fell head over heels in love with their whimsical Polaroids!Love the blurry effects and the dream-sequence like feel to the pictures!
Makes you want to put on a sundress and prance around a field of dandelions :)

Ever had the feeling that there was something you had to do. Absolutely had to do! Well, for me that would have to be starting a fashion cum lifestyle blog. Reading fashion blogs has become my daily ritual and one fine day I thought to myself, why not start one on my own!
Since then,months have passed, then days and finally one year has passed since I first toyed with the idea. Assignments, lack of inspiration or sheer laziness- the excuses are bountiful.
But today I've decided, this shall be the day, cos a wise man once told me- "Time and tide waits for no man" - or in this case, no chica :)

So here's cheers to something new!
